Triathlon is one of the fastest growing sports in Iceland.  Since the establishment of the first triathlon club in 2004 participation in triathlon and duathlon competitions has grown tenfold.

We now have 5 triathlon clubs with active participants competing in all distances from sprint to Ironman and Iceland has produced 38 Ironman finishers in the last few years.

At the Reykjavik International Games triathlon will be represented by a duathlon of swimming + running on Saturday 21st of January.

The swim will be in the outdoor 50m pool at Laugardalslaug, with the run comprising of 2-3 loops in the beautiful surrounding area.
